Once upon a time, Celestial envoys frequently visited the mortal planes, in Rosaria, one of them was even an official advisor to the (human) king. These Celestials used to donate some of their feathers. Somehow, someone obtained enough feathers to make a mantle of feather fall. Even more bizarrely, that mantle wound up in Mi’Kal’s magic shop in Koh’Shar, where Fyllion bought it. Eluvelon appears to have been one of these Celestial envoys
Eluvelon died under unknown circumstances. This prompted the other Celestials to retreat from the mortal plane. Since then, worshippers have
- Either lost contact with their gods, forcing them to operate on faith alone
- Or been forced to make bargains with intermediaries, like Virgil is proposing to Fyllion (in secret)
- Or been reduced to infusing totems of communion with their magic and devotion, hoping this will be enough to channel messages to and from their gods
