Backstory

Ezra joined the crew when they were 17, they are now 28. They were serving under Captain Barney Morgan, on a merchant vessel. They don’t talk about it much, but you all know they were miserable on this ship and the living conditions were atrocious.

When the ship got attacked and boarded by the crew, they asked “is your captain treating you well?” and Ezra was the first to yell “He’s worth less than the shit that comes out of his ass!”

Ezra joined the crew then and haven’t left them since, slowly opening up and accepting them as their family. They learnt how to fight at both short and long range aboard the ship. Ezra can be found mostly on deck or in the crows’ nest, looking at the horizon, the clouds or patching up clothes for the crew.

Ezra has learned how to navigate by the stars from Hali, a water genasi who is travelling southbound from a northern sea to explore "strange new worlds" that she heard about in bardic tales. Hali wanted to join the crew in order to speed up her travels and to try and make sure that she would be safer during her dangerous travels.

Fyllion is a well known ally and friend to the crew of the ship and has already joined them on many occasions, looking for adventure and inspiration. When sailing with the crew, Fyllion is the persuasive, charismatic person who convinces people to give them stuff, who convinces merchants to lower their prices and who plays music to influence the mood depending on the occasion. They first met in one of the coastal cities where Fyllion was performing at the time. After a failed de-escalating of a possibly deadly bar fight (those barbarians were probably not listening because they had too much to drink, Fyllion tells himself.) between the crew and a rivaling crew, he became the target of the rivals and was actually saved by the crew, after which they spent the rest of the night drinking and feasting together. Which is one of Fyllion’s specialities of course. (Mostly the feasting part, he’s not great at holding his liquor.)

A little more recently, in another port, the crew met Storm, a travelling dancer and choreographer. His affinity for art and artistry drew him to Ezra and Fyllion, first for a conversation and a little later for travelling together, after discovering the pirate code the Young Kraken's crew lives by!
